NEPA VMA at Symposium on Veterans

NEPA VMA recently participated in The Tri-Vets Community Action Team of Luzerne, Lackawanna and Wyoming Counties  symposium on the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s plan to link public, private, and governmental support for service members, veterans, and their families to ensure a seamless transition to civilian society.

Keynote speaker for the symposium was Colonel David W. Sutherland, Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff , with principle focus on Warrior and Family Support.  He is the co-author of  “Sea of Goodwill: Matching the Donor to the Need”,  a white paper that focuses on education, access to health care and employment as the most essential factors that lead military members and their families to successful reintegration.

The symposium took take place at Luzerne County Community College Educational Conference Center, May 6, 2011 and was open to representatives from Luzerne, Wyoming, and Lackawanna Counties service provider community, military and veteran service organizations.
